Ipswich man has been charged for alleged stealing and evading police from Gladstone business

A man has been charged with multiple stealing offences in Gladstone 550km away from his Ipswich home.

An Ipswich man has been charged for allegedly stealing tools from a Gladstone business, three days in a row and then evading police.

Police will allege the 46-year-old North Booval man attended the business on Dawson Highway on August 5, 6 and 7 and stole a number of tools.

On October 14, approximately 8.30pm, police were conducting patrols on Toolooa St, South Gladstone.

It will be alleged police attempted to stop a Toyota LandCruiser the man was driving and he failed to stop.

On October 16, at 11.35am, police arrested the man after he attended a business on Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood.

A number of items were allegedly concealed in his clothing during the police search.

He was charged with three counts of stealing after previous conviction and one count each of attempted stealing, evasion offence and unlicensed driving.

Police objected the bail and he will appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court.
