After laying dormant for months, an award-winning Gladstone facility could soon have new operators with Gladstone Regional Council finally seeking temporary food and coffee vendors for the space.

In 2018, the Tondoon Botanic Gardens was named as one of Australia’s top 10 regional botanic gardens by Australian Geographic, and now an operator has the chance to start a business there.

Councillor Chris Trevor told The Observer the vendor would be required at the Gardens cafe for about four months.

“This is a great opportunity for a local business to provide coffee, baked foods and nutritious light meals to the visitors of Tondoon Botanic Gardens,” Mr Trevor said.

“An Expression of Interest period is currently open but has been extended until 2pm on Thursday, August 19 with further details available online.”
