It was a wet but welcome start to the June/July school holidays.

The Gladstone region received much needed rain on Saturday, recording almost 80mm within 24 hours.

Some parts of the region reached close to 50mm, with others kept in the 20-3omm range.

Looking forward, Gladstone is expected to have patchy showers for the rest of Sunday with a 70 per cent chance of rain.

The rest of the week is expected to have partly cloudy conditions with a minimum of 13-15C and a maximum of 23C.
