Gladstone golfers smash fundraising targets out of the park at charity golf day

More than 100 golfers took to the greens of Gladstone Golf Course last weekend to raise money for a good community cause.

In an amazing show of generosity at the GEA Charity Golf day, businesses and golfers raised more than $4500 for the Co-ordinated Community Response to Domestic and Family Violence

The CCRDFV is a community of dedicated and passionate stakeholders whose mission is to conquer the combined effects of domestic and family violence in the Gladstone region through community awareness, education and addressing service gaps.

CCRDFV chairperson Vicki Dredge said the funds were greatly appreciated and more importantly the day provided a wonderful opportunity for the group to raise much needed education and awareness about the importance of ridding domestic and family violence from our community.

“We are a hardworking group of volunteers and it would take a lot of fundraising activities by the members to raise this sort of money and awareness, so to everybody involved thanks for your kind support,” Ms Dredge said.

GEA general manager Chantale Lane said the Charity Golf Day was one of their most successful to date.
