LUXURY, self-contained apartments centrally situated and with unrivalled views carry an exclusive price tag to match.

With starting prices higher than those of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Oaks hotels, the Gladstone counterpart is the beginning of a new era of accommodation in town.

Daniel Csortan, general manager of sales for Oaks Hotels and Resorts, said the hotel was the welcoming of a new standard in the area.

"Gladstone is a popular holiday, conferencing, dining and event destination in its own right," he said.

"And now travellers can combine all four with a visit to Oaks Grand Gladstone - whether for a leisurely long weekend, week away or extended stay with family, friends or colleagues."

The 144-room hotel, boasting a 4½-star rating, is linked via skywalk to two of Gladstone's premier eateries - Ribs n'Rumps and the Coffee Club, and licensed venue, The Grand Hotel.

Guest Matt Goverton said his experience at the hotel was pleasing.

"I enjoyed my stay at the Oaks," he said.

"It was so handy being able to order a coffee just downstairs and take it back to my room still piping hot."

It is in the heart of Gladstone on Roseberry St, and views are in every direction; of Auckland Creek, the power station and the town hub.

The nine-storey hotel is also fully equipped to host a variety of functions and conferences.

The venue is aiming to lift the bar in Gladstone's hotel portfolio.

For locals, it has been a long-term project finally come to fruition.

With proposals approved by council in March 2012, what was once an inspiration now provides a superb place to revitalise.
