A new pizza shop has opened in Clinton just in time for the school holidays.

The grand opening of Domino’s Clinton was celebrated on Friday after much hype in the region.

Local franchisee James Dooley said he was thrilled to open his eighth store in Central Queensland.

“As a local business owner, I understand it is a privilege to be able to operate and safely feed those in the community during this time,” Mr Dooley said.

“I am very excited about the opening of my eighth store in Clinton, and know I am lucky to be expanding our business right now.”

Mr Dooley said the opening of the new store would create 20 jobs in Gladstone.

“I encourage those who may have recently lost their job due to COVID-19 to apply,” he said.

To celebrate the store’s opening, Mr Dooley said he was donating 30 pizzas to Roseberry House to help those experiencing homelessness.

“It will be great to get involved with vital, local support services, such as Roseberry House, who are striving to ensure young people are supported with transitioning into independent living in the area,” he said.

“In the coming months, we will also be looking to host ‘Doughraisers’ to support our local community.

“We encourage any local Gladstone groups, schools, charities or sports clubs to reach out about sponsorship and fundraising opportunities, we would love to hear how we could help.”

Mr Dooley is proud to locally own and operate eight Domino’s stores in Central Queensland including Domino’s Clinton, Gladstone, Glenmore, Kirkwood, North Rockhampton, South Rockhampton and Yeppoon.
