1770 LARC! Tours place in top five Traveller’s Choice Awards for 2023

A “quintessential Aussie experience” in the Queensland seaside town of 1770 has been named among the top five tours in the nation. DETAILS.

The team behind 1770 LARC! Tours are celebrating after the unique Aussie experience was named one of nation’s best.

At TripAdvisor’s prestigious Travellers’ Choice and Best of the Best Awards for 2023, the tour was listed as the fourth best experience in Australia, and ninth in the South Pacific in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Overall Experiences awards.

A full-day tour in the amphibious boat takes travellers on a land a sea adventure, cruising to secluded beaches and heading uphill to Bustard Head where they can climb to the top of the first light house built on the Queensland Mainland in 1868.

Owner and operator Neil Mergard said it was “a real thrill, and humbling, to be recognised” in this way.

The celebration comes only 12 months after the company’s induction into the Eco Tourism Australia Hall of Fame after 20 years of Eco Certification.
