A FUNDRAISER for a Biloela man who is fighting for his life in hospital after falling from a tree at Biloela last week has topped $15,000, in less than 24 hours, and continues to rise.

Steven Ball suffered critical head injuries when he fell more than three metres from a tree in Malakoff Street about 1.30pm on June 29.

Family friend Kerryn Benecke set up a GoFundMe page for the family, as Mr Ball remains in hospital with extensive brain trauma.

"Unfortunately, he experienced devastating and life-threatening injuries, predominantly massive brain trauma," Mr Benecke said.

"He is down, but up for the fight of his life."

The married father of four has his family by his side as he continues to fight in hospital.

"Bally [Steven] and Kate, his loving wife, have four beautiful young children who just want to be by their daddy's side," the fundraiser read.

"Being Biloela locals Kate and family have immediately relocated to Brisbane and instantly confronted with all the expenses that come from accommodation and living day to day."

The bills are mounting for the family, who have to pay to stay in Brisbane to be at Mr Ball's bedside.

"With no time limit known for Bally's recovery and with his family's ongoing expenses just to be by his side things are getting tougher by the day.

"This event in Bally's life creates an extreme emotional and financial burden."

Mr Ball was initially taken to Biloela hospital, after being treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.

He was then flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital for specialist treatment that afternoon.
