BASKETBALL: They went undefeated all season but in the Lockyer Valley Basketball Association's grand final Jeff's team came unstuck, going down to Yi's team 57-39.

But their efforts didn't go unnoticed.

Jeff's team were down three players, taking to the court with only five players on the night.

Team spokesperson Sunny Yang said everyone just wanted to enjoy the game.

"We usually have eight people, but that grand final we only had five people," Sunny said.

"Our team has one thing to trust each other and to keep going and playing as a team."

Yang played the grand final as the only female on the court, but that didn't bother her, instead the team struggled with less than desirable numbers.

"Our energy wasn't that good," Yang said.

"After the game I was a bit sad, I think our team members tried really hard and every game we try really hard and to lose the final was a little sad."

Playing for third and fourth the Smoking Joes defeated the Goats 42-37.

Yang said the team usually plays basketball about twice per week, and often practices with their grand final opponents.

"They know what our team is good and bad at," Yang said.

"We challenge each other on the court, but out of basketball we are friends."

The sign on for the term four season is on October 6 at the Gatton Sports and Aquatic Centre.
