Residents in the Toogoolawah and Esk region have been “well behaved”, according to Toogoolawah’s top cop.
Officers handed out about 40 masks since face masks became mandatory last month.
Officer-in-charge John Cumner said the majority of masks were handed out to people who were passing through the region and had stopped at the petrol station.
A 21-year old Griffin man was fined $1378 for non-compliance with a health direction after being nabbed at Gregors Creek, more than 100km from his home.
In other news around the region, a 25-year-old man from Esk was arrested for failing to appear in the Toogoolawah Magistrates Court.
Police seized marijuana plants from a rural property at Cooeeimbardi during the week, with investigations ongoing.
A 46-year-old woman from Toogoolawah was also fined for driving an unregistered vehicle.
