A young Harristown woman will face court after police allegedly found 14 grams of methamphetamine in her car.
Police stopped the woman’s Mazda CX-7 in Plainlands back in June, as part of a police operation targeting drugs and traffic offences in the Lockyer Valley.
Officers seized a mobile phone, digital scales and a large amount of cash.
Police have charged the woman with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.
She was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 30.
The woman was one of 32 people charged during the operation that ran from June 12 to July 3.
They included a 48-year-old Gatton man who was allegedly caught with a knife, a quantity of pills and drug utensils on Apex Drive in Gatton, and a 36-year-old Gatton man who was allegedly caught with a sum of counterfeit money, methylamphetamine and drug utensils on July 1.
Darling Downs District Acting Country Patrol Inspector Stuart Robinson said police were committed to community safety.
“Queensland has seen its population grow exponentially in recent years including here in the Darling Downs District and it is our role to keep the community safe by detecting, deterring and disrupting all types of criminal activity,” he said.
“These operations help us to boost capacity, allowing us to get out there and saturate an area we know has been experiencing higher rates of crime.
“While it may not always be visible to the public, our officers are extremely dedicated and work hard every day so our community is safe and feels safe.”
Over the three-week period, police also conducted 44 roadside breath tests resulting in one person charged with drink driving and 14 roadside drug testing, which resulted in five people being charged with drug driving.
