A parent’s fury over alleged ‘spiked’ Halloween candy has quickly grown attention on social media and sparked a police investigation.
The allegation came to light on Thursday evening when the concerned parent took to a Lockyer Valley community page after discovering some of their child’s wrapped candy appeared to be covered in paprika and chilli powder.
Concern was raised over the possibility the confectionary had been tampered with and the risk it could pose on a child with allergies.
“If a child has an allergy, this could end badly. I will be calling the police in the morning to report it,” the post concluded.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed a report had been made to police and inquiries were underway.
