Police have arrested a Laidley Creek West Man following a suspicious fire that tore through a caravan and car early on Wednesday morning.
Newscorp understands the 46-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman lived in the caravan, and witnesses on the scene said they heard a woman screaming before the blaze ignited at 4am, August 23.
The caravan was burnt to the ground and the car was gutted.
A neighbor said police door-knocked the rural area, searching for the woman, who had fled on foot into bushland with a blue heeler - however the alleged offender spoke to police upon their arrival.
The woman had since been located.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the man was arrested and charged with endangering property by fire.
A witness said during the blaze multiple explosions echoed through the valley.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman said four crews arrived at 4.30am and had the fire extinguished by 4.50am.
He said a fire investigation unit was looking into the cause.
The man was due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court the same day.
Laidley police continue to investigate the incident.
