A three day drinking bender has resulted in a man smashing the window at a house unknown to him and damaging a series of cars as he walked down the road

In an extremely drunken state, Daley Nopundul left a trail of destruction when he stole a golf green tee and walked down Woodlands road.

He scratched and damaged four cars before entering an unknown property and smashing the laundry window using a metal pole.

Police were called to the scene in Gatton on April 2, where witnesses said Nopundul was still in the house yard.

The Gatton Magistrates Court on May 10 heard his behaviour was erratic and he appeared heavily intoxicated.

Police prosecutor sergeant Al Windsor said the pole used to break the window was identified as the golf club’s green flag.

Sergeant Windsor told the court that witnesses waved down police, who then noticed a number of people standing around a “series of vehicles”.

“Four vehicles had been damaged, a number of large scratch marks had been applied to a number of the vehicles,” sergeant Windsor said.

Nopundul was taken to the Gatton watchhouse where he blew a blood alcohol reading of 0.28.

He was not questioned due to his intoxication but was forthcoming about removing the golf club flagpole, sergeant Windsor said.

Sergeant Windsor did not have any restitution values for the vehicles damaged or the house window.

Nopundul, who is unemployed, represented himself in court and said he was very intoxicated for three days.

Magistrate Roger Stark told Nopundal his level of intoxication was not an excuse for his actions.

Nopundal pleaded guilty to one charge of stealing and five counts of wilful damage.

He was fined $750 and a conviction was not recorded.
