SUBMISSIONS for the Moreton water resources plan will close on Friday and Member for Lockyer Ian Rickuss is calling on those affected by the changes to make their voices heard.
The Public Notice of proposal to amend the Water Resource (Moreton) Plan 2007 and the Moreton Resource Operations Plan 2009 could see farmers and irrigators along the Central Lockyer water line restricted by water allocations.
Mr Rickuss said the proposed water allocations wouldn't just affect farmers and irrigators, but the local community.
"It is imperative that submissions be made in relation to the water issue around water allocation from concerned farmers, the business community, and residents of the Lockyer," Mr Rickuss said.
"If people need information contact my office."
Water users have expressed their concern to Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Anthony Lynham about the proposals.
Numerous meetings have been held across the Lockyer Valley for water users with consultation from the Department of Natural Resources.
Submissions must be received by the Department by Friday, January 29, at 5pm.
Hard copies are available from Mr Rickuss' office in North St, Gatton.
