A HEALTHY crowd turned out to watch riders compete in the second Outback Equines Spring Horse Archery Tournament last Sunday.
Tournament host Hayley Chambers said said she was proud to be increasing the popularity of the sport.
"Riders competed on a barrier course 90m laneway in what we call the Aussie Triple Shot, as well as our barrierless course called the Commanche Attack Course,” she said.
"We had six riders compete in the walk/trot grade and four of us competing in the canter grade.”
Mrs Chambers said horse archery combined martial art and sport and was still quite new in Australia.
"Our aim is to put the word out there that it's awesome fun and is available to all ages and levels of archers and riders,” she said.
"There were some amazing archery scores for riders who had only shot off their horses for the first time the day before.”
