Easter lotto ticket lands Lockyer Valley man $848,000

It was an extra special Easter for a lucky Lockyer Valley man who bought a winning lotto ticket from a local news agency. Here’s where he purchased it, and what he plans to do with the cash.

A Lockyer Valley retiree can now enjoy his golden years in comfort after purchasing a $848,230 winning Gold Lotto ticket.

A spokesman for The Lott said a representative called the man on Easter Sunday to break the good news.

“It’s a bit of a shock,” he exclaimed before he started to shake.

“This will be so good. I would love to get a home for myself so I can enjoy my retirement.

“I’m so grateful.”

The man bought a 24-game QuickPick the newsXpress on Gherke Road, Plainland.

“I’ve been playing for years and buying tickets for the past 30 years, he said.

“This year, I haven’t won a prize at all… and now this! This is really, really good!

The Lott spokesman said the man was one of six division one winners in the Saturday Lotto draw on Saturday 30 March 2024.

“Each division one winning entry scored $848,230.70,” he said.

“Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries… four in Victoria and one each in Queensland and New South Wales.

“The winning numbers… were 44, 42, 43, 15, 12 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 36.”

He said during 2023, the Saturday Gold Lotto draws created 176 millionaires across the nation.
