Third day of fire threat for Esk

The fire doesn't currently pose a threat to homes or locals

WEDNESDAY, 1:40pm: The bushfire that has been raging since Monday is still scorching the countryside around Esk.

Residents and travellers through town and on the Brisbane Valley Highway continue to be impacted by smoke, which is expected to endure for several days.

Numerous fire crews have been hard at work keeping the blaze contained, and are continuing to monitor the area.

The fire does not currently pose a direct threat to homes, but those in the area are advised to have a plan in place in the event that the situation worsens.

TUESDAY: A bushfire is still burning north of the Brisbane Valley Highway, and near East Street in Esk.

Flames were visible from town during the night, and smoke continues to impact surrounding areas. 

The fire is contained, and three fire crews are on the scene monitoring the area.

No properties are under threat at present, but residents are advised to take precautions in case circumstances change. 

MONDAY: A bushfire is burning between East Street and Falls Road, to the southeast of Esk.

The fire is travelling in a northerly direction, and 8 crews are working to keep the fire contained.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.　

Traffic management is in place and motorists along the Brisbane Valley Highway are advised to drive with caution, and to conditions.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time.
