Arson investigation underway as police probe suspicious fire
A burning jerry can found deliberately placed inside a Queensland takeaway has sparked a police investigation.
Police are investigating after a flaming jerry can was found inside a Lowood takeaway store.
Emergency services were called to the Walter Street store about 1.30am on Thursday.
They arrived to find the jerry can burning just inside the door.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the three crew attended and extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes.
There was no significant structural damage, nor was anyone hurt.
A crime scene was declared, and investigations are continuing.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the fire or may have relevant dashcam or vision is asked to come forward.
