Gateway Motorway serious crash causes major delays
Brisbane commuters have faced a horror start to the weekend following two crashes on separate motorways, but both have been cleared and traffic is beginning to ease.

Traffic is finally easing after commuters in Brisbane’s east faced a frustrating start to the weekend following a major crash involving a truck and car on the Gateway Motorway.
Police earlier asked motorists to avoid the Gateway Motorway heading north if possible after a truck and ute crashed, but just a few residual delays now remain.
Emergency services were called to the site, northbound on the Gateway Motorway near the Nudgee Service Station about 2.30pm.

A Queensland Police spokesman said a ute was on its roof, taking a lengthy time to clear, but it was finally removed about 3.25pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were treating two patients but they were both in a stable condition.
She said the patients had pulled themselves from the vehicles after the crash.

Traffic from Airport Avenue was blocked and motorists were told to avoid the area.
Queensland Police advise the crash “will take time to be seen to”.
Meanwhile, a second crash, this time on the Ipswich Motorway, affected traffic in Brisbane’s west.
The crash happened in the eastbound lanes in Oxley and motorists were also told to expect delays.
