The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a strong wind warning off the coast of Fraser Island which is expected to last until Saturday at this stage.
We can expect a light shower or two on Friday with rain expected for Saturday morning.
Sunday is the pick of the weekend with a sunny day forecast for the Fraser Coast.
Temperatures are averaging between 15 to 24 degrees over the weekend.
