Winter has already started shifting closer with brisk mornings across the Wide Bay.

Still, sunny days are forecasted for this weekend.

Following odd showers falling across the last seven days, rain-gauge totals show Maryborough received 11mm of rainfall, Hervey Bay 6mm and Bundaberg only 1.8mm.

Tiaro received 0mm of rain in the last week, with surrounding areas measuring up to about 6mm.

Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecaster Rossa Hoff told the Chronicle little rain could be expected in coming days.

“There is a little bit of a chance of rain predominantly around Fraser Island itself and maybe down to Double Island Point,” Ms Hoff said.

Chances of rainfall slightly pick up over the weekend, however this is expected to fall out to sea on Sunday.

“Generally, we‘re not expecting too much to actually impact on the land,” Ms Hoff said.

“There is sort of a slight to moderate chance of a shower here or there in the region over the weekend, but fairly slight … There’s nothing really too much the other side of Tiaro happening, either.”

Bundy has a 20 to 30 per cent chance of showers, “but if (Bundy) does get a shower, it‘ll be very light.”

“If you’re after sunshine, you’re in luck this weekend, however, if you’ve been hanging out for a bit more rain, unfortunately, it looks like it’ll be a bit more of a wait,” Ms Hoff said.
