On the western edge of the Fraser Coast, the rural community of Teebar will be hosting their annual show which returns after it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Teebar Show, Rodeo and Campdraft is set to come back this weekend bigger and better than ever before.
Teebar Show and Sports Association secretary Emma Innes said the event attracted many people from across the Fraser Coast and boasted a strong campdraft competition this year.
“It’s a wonderful way for people to get together and celebrate, we’ve had an interesting 2020 with COVID, it’s really nice to have the show again this year and a date people can look forward to,” she said.
“We’ve been planning it for most of this year … we’ve been reaching out to local businesses for sponsors and we are really grateful for the response we’ve got there.
“It should be a fantastic day this weekend … I’m most looking forward to the live music acts.”
Association President Ewan Rockemer said the association was putting the finishing touches on the event, was looking forward to the show and couldn’t wait to welcome people back to Teebar.
“There have had to be a few changes thanks to COVID, including moving our ticketing system online to allow contact tracing, but the committee have been wonderful in implementing necessary changes and we thank the public for taking it in their stride,” he said.
Gates open Saturday, June 12 at 6am and live music will play from 3pm until 10pm at Teebar Hall and Grounds at the corner of Teebar Hall Road and Maryborough-Biggenden Road, Teebar.
