WATCH: Anger as driver appears to swerve at dingo on Fraser

A VIDEO filmed by an outraged onlooker appears to show a driver deliberately swerving at a dingo on Fraser Island.

KARIN Kilpatrick has shared her disgust after footage emerged of a driver appearing to deliberately swerve at a dingo on Fraser Island.

The angered member of the Fraser Island Dingo Group was dismayed when a member of the public sent the video to her.

In addition to nearly hitting the dingo, the car also appears to have a near miss with a vehicle travelling in close proximity.

Karin said the man who took the footage managed to get the licence plate number of the person driving the car and she is hopeful there will be serious repercussions if the driver's actions are found to be deliberate.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service principal ranger Jamie Seeleither said it as unclear if a tourist or resident was driving, "we only know it was someone driving stupidly and dangerously".

"Rangers are investigating this incident.

"Dingoes and other wildlife are protected on the island and they are part of the World Heritage values of Fraser."

Anyone with information regarding the incident can call QPWS on 4127 9150.
