TWO 17-year-old boys needed the help of the AGL Rescue Helicopter after a two-vehicle crash on Fraser Island yesterday.
The crash occurred on the beach north of the Maheno wreck yesterday morning.
The two vehicles had a side-on collision which resulted in the 17-year-old driver of one of the vehicles suffering possible rib and pelvis injuries.
The AGL Rescue helicopter was called to the scene and the teenager was stabilised for transport.
The island's paramedic then arrived at the scene with another person to be transported, a 77-year-old man who was a cardiac patient.
He was also loaded into the helicopter and airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital.
The rescue helicopter then returned to Fraser Island where another 17-year-old boy, who was the front seat passenger in the original car, was experiencing pain to his left side. He was also airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital.
All three were in a stable condition when they were airlifted to the hospital.
The occupants of the other vehicle involved in the collision were unharmed.
