Trilogy aim for author

HERVEY Bay author and scriptwriter Joshuah Buckle is climbing his way to the top one book at a time.

HERVEY Bay author and scriptwriter Joshuah Buckle is climbing his way to the top one book at a time.

The 26-year-old writer, who is expected to release his first novel on May 22, may soon be making waves in Hollywood if he has anything to do with it.

Starting his love affair with writing more than six years ago, Mr Buckle has continued to impress publishers and film managers across the world, with his unique writing style.

His first release, The Rise, is a fantasy thriller, and will be the first book of a series, Mr Buckle said. "It's a story about Josiah, a man who wakes up in a world where he has no memory of his past," he said.

"It is the first book in a series of three. I'm currently working on the second book now.

"But I'm also working on several feature-length scripts and a few television series.

"So I'm balancing a lot of different projects."

Mr Buckle said he was looking forward to completing the book series, thought it might be some time before his next book hits the shelves.

"I'm in talks with a few big producing companies in America who are interesting in a television series I wrote called Harbor," he said.

"It originally started out as a small animated series, and then it grew into this complex series.

"Hopefully I will hear back from my manager soon to see what the next step is. I'm really eager to work in the film indust- ry, so this will be the first step."

Joshuah Buckle's novel The Rise will be launched at the Hervey Bay Library on May 22.
