The council is looking for community members to sit on the 2021/22 Fraser Coast Regional Arts Development Fund Advisory Committee.
RADF promotes the role and value of arts, culture, and heritage as key drivers to support diversity and inclusivity; grow strong regions; and provide training, education and employment opportunities for Queensland artists and local communities.
“The committee consists of independent community members who advise Council officers on matters relating to the Fraser Coast RADF program,” Cr Phil Truscott said.
“Council has signed a new agreement with Arts Queensland to deliver the program for 2021/22.”
The fund is a partnership between state and local government which invests in quality arts and cultural experiences across Queensland based on priorities determined locally.
“Committee members will be asked to serve for a minimum of two years,” Cr Phil Truscott said.
“It is a rewarding experience which helps support and promote arts, heritage and culture locally, not just artists.”
Minister the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the Palaszczuk Government was investing $2.08 million through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) in 2021-22, matched with a contribution of approximately $2.3 million from 59 councils across the state.
“RADF is a great example of working together to deliver our COVID-19 economic recovery plan, supporting employment opportunities and creating new arts and cultural experiences in local and regional communities,” Minister Enoch said.
“RADF in 2021–2022 will provide valuable social, health and economic outcomes for regional Queenslanders, and support our Government’s 10-year arts roadmap priorities to strengthen Queensland communities, activate local places, and drive social change across the state.”
