A well-known television host, author and journalist will be the keynote speaker at Fraser Coast Libraries’ Lines in the Sand festival to be held for readers and writers next month.
Annabel Crabb, host of ABC TV’s Ms Represented and Kitchen Cabinet has a new book coming out that she co-wrote with her friend and colleague Leigh Sales.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to hear from Annabel ahead of the September 28 release of the book, Well Hello: Meanderings from the world of Chat 10 Looks 3,” Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said.
“She and Leigh teamed up to create their hit podcast, Chat 10 Looks 3, in 2014 and Well Hello is their first book together.
“Annabel will deliver the keynote address at the festival on September 25 at 10am at a venue to be finalised shortly.”
Cr Seymour said tickets were free and numbers were limited, so people would need to book quickly to secure a place in the audience once tickets were released in the coming days.
Cr David Lewis said the Lines in the Sand festival would run from September 24 to 26 and included plenty of other terrific speakers and workshops.
“Another fantastic guest speaker is best-selling author Rosalie Ham who wrote The Dressmaker which was made into a popular film starring Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth,” he said.
“We’ll also be hearing from Kerry McGinnis who’s worked as a droving hand and station cook west of Mount Isa and written two volumes of memoir plus a string of best-selling novels.
“It’s going to be a great festival for readers, writers and everyone interested in fascinating stories. The libraries have copies of the authors’ books which people can borrow for free, so I’d encourage those who aren’t already familiar with the speakers’ work to check them out.”
Cr Seymour said COVID-safe procedures would be followed with the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the event being Council’s highest priority.
