A teenage boy was flown to Hervey Bay Hospital overnight after being bitten by a snake at K’gari.

A LifeFlight reported the boy was walking outside near his accommodation when the unidentified snake bit him about 8.55pm Tuesday.

The youth’s parents applied first aid before paramedics arrived in the helicopter and drove to the site.

He was then flown to the hospital in a stable condition.

The bite happened less than two days after a woman was bitten by a dingo at Lake McKenzie on the island.

Rangers are still working to identify the dingo involved.
