A 14-YEAR-OLD Brisbane boy has been airlifted from Fraser Island's Kingfisher Bay Resort after being injured in a Segway accident.
It is believed that the teen, who was holidaying with family, fractured his left ankle as a result of the accident.
The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue was tasked to fly to the island at 8.30pm last night (Monday).
The CareFlight medical team assessed the boy on-site, before transferring him to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
He was accompanied by his mother for the flight.
The mission marked the end of a particularly busy day for RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopters, with crews from the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Mount Isa, Toowoomba, and Bundaberg flying a combined 8 missions.
