Sand dune crash leads to airlift

A 39-YEAR-OLD man has dislocated his shoulder while tobogganing on Fraser Island and been airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital.

A 39-YEAR-OLD has dislocated his shoulder while tobogganing on Fraser Island and been airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital.

The Burpengary man was riding a make-shift toboggan down the sand dunes at Waddy Point yesterday when he crashed at the bottom and injured himself.

He was taken to the Waddy Point ranger station where an AGL Action Rescue helicopter flight paramedic stabilised the injury.

The man was reported to be in a stable condition.
