The sister of a young drowning victim has taken to social media to pay tribute to his life in the wake of the tragedy
Dom Kruger was aged in his 20s when he drowned in pool at a private home in Scarness about 6.04pm on Wednesday, January 15.
Paramedics were unable to resuscitate him after arriving at 6.04pm.
It is understood Dom, who had special needs, was in the care of a support agency at the time.
There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on the part of the agency.
His sister, Chloe Kruger, posted a heartbreaking tribute to her brother on Facebook on Thursday.
She remembered him as the “best uncle to our nieces and nephews”.
“Dom, you were the best giant brother any of us could have asked for,” Chloe wrote.
“The best laugh, especially when it was simply because I was wiggling my eyebrows at you to make you belly laugh.
“The best hugger, including full koala cuddles.
“The best at flipping people off with your index finger.
“The best at doing our heads in when we were younger by quoting Shrek or making your Crazy Frog sing constantly.
“The best at making everyone around you so, so happy.
“The best at running like a baby giraffe. The biggest Broncos supporter. The tallest person I’ve ever met.
“My beautiful baby brother.
“While we might not be together now and I won’t get to hug you again in this life, I know you will be waiting for me in our next lives together and I will make up for lost hugs then.
“I love you forever. My favourite baby brother.
“The person that moulded me into the person I am today.
“The best part of this family. Sunshine in human form, and an infectious energy like no one you’ve ever met before.
“I love you and you will forever be in my heart.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds for Dom’s funeral.
It has already raised more than $2500 with a goal of $9000.
