Three boys charged over alleged crime spree in Hervey Bay

Three boys aged 12, 16 and 17, have been charged after a string of crimes in Hervey Bay.

Police will allege between June 14-16, the trio was involved in multiple break-ins, vehicle thefts, assaults and dangerous driving incidents, including the ramming of a police vehicle.

Following extensive investigations, police arrested and charged the three on June 16.

A 12-year-old Hervey Bay boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and two counts of stealing.

A 16-year-old boy Hervey Bay boy has been charged with two counts each of wilful damage, unlawful use of motor vehicle, common assault, and armed robbery, and one count each of break and enter, enter dwelling and commit, deprivation of liberty, and attempted armed robbery.

A 17-year-old Hervey Bay boy has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, wilful damage, deprivation of liberty, enter dwelling and commit, enter dwelling with intent, and fraud, two counts each of armed robbery, common assault, enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, unlawful use of motor vehicle, and failing to comply with the duties of driver involved in a crash, three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, and five counts of driving without a licence.

All three have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Hervey Bay Children’s Court at a later date.
