Passersby assisted 64-year-old Pialba man at scene of two-vehicle crash

A shocked Hervey Bay woman has described the moment she arrived at a busy intersection to find her ex-husband injured and her daughter’s car crushed as she calls for witnesses to come forward. PHOTOS, DETAILS.

A woman is calling for witnesses who may have seen a crash which wrecked her daughter’s car and left her ex-husband injured.

It comes after 64-year-old Pialba man Norm Wilson was rushed to hospital following a crash at the intersection of Boat Harbour Drive and Hunter Street in Hervey Bay on Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the two-vehicle crash about 6.50pm Friday.

Mr Wilson was transported to hospital with chest pain.

His ex-wife Linda Threlfall, said he was driving their daughter’s car along Boat Harbour Drive when it was hit by another vehicle at the intersection.

She took to social media and asked for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact her.

A registered nurse who witnessed the crash assisted Mr Wilson at the scene before the ambulance arrived, Ms Threlfall said.

“She was a passerby who very kindly stopped to see if everyone was ok,” she said.

Mr Wilson had been discharged from Hervey Bay Hospital on Saturday morning and had returned home, Ms Threlfall said.
