A woman fleeing her violent partner ran towards a hospital in fear to try to escape him, a court has heard.
A 23-year-old man has pleaded guilty and been convicted of four counts of breaching a domestic violence order by Maryborough Magistrates Court.
The man, who cannot be named, appeared via videolink from prison.
The court heard one of the charges related to the man’s partner.
The incident happened near Maryborough Hospital when the man was under the influence of alcohol, the court was told.
The woman “felt scared” and was attempting to get to the hospital to get away from him.
The court heard there were allegations of a “physical interaction” between the two parties during the incident.
The other three charges included breaches of being at an address where the man was not allowed because of restrictions included in the DVOs.
The court heard he was previously sentenced for grievous bodily harm after attacking his grandfather while he was intoxicated.

He had wanted to use a vehicle and had been refused because he had been drinking, the court heard. He had pushed his grandfather, aged in his 70s, who fell over and hit his head and back.
Defence lawyer Morgan Harris said his client had shown insight into the root of his offending.
When he was sober he was able to maintain employment and stay “on the straight and narrow”.
The man acknowledged that alcohol was the major cause of his offending and prior to being in custody, he had attended Alcoholics Anonymous in relation to addressing his issues, Mr Harris said.
He submitted a letter of apology addressed to the victims to the court.
Magistrate John Milburn said in relation to the incident involving his partner, the man had arrived at a friend’s home where she was located.
He left and came back later intoxicated.
He blamed the woman for losing his wallet and “behaved in an aggressive manner”, Mr Milburn said.

“She felt scared. She went to the hospital, you approached and were chasing the aggrieved.
“She was trying to run with a pram and your child in the pram.
“She fell over. You were dismissive and apparently unrepentant as one week later on the 21st of August you once again contravened the order.”
On that occasion, the incident had involved the man’s grandmother, Mr Milburn said.
He knocked on the door of her home while intoxicated, getting her out of bed.
She tried to calm him down but he was “involved in an angry conversation”, Mr Milburn said, calling and screaming at his mother.
The man was taken to the watch-house when his grandmother became scared.
Mr Milburn said the man had caused great concern to his family.
He said domestic violence offending was a “significant issue” in the man’s criminal history.
The man had demonstrated “profound disrespect” to his partner, mother and grandparents, Mr Milburn said.
Mr Milburn sentenced the man to a head sentence of two months in prison for the current offences and said he would be immediately eligible for parole.
The 10 days he had spent in presentence custody were declared as time served.
Convictions were recorded.
