Man who allegedly fled police arrested in Buxton

A 39-year-old man wanted on multiple charges has been apprehended by police in Buxton after he was tracked down by the dog squad bushland.
At 7.30am on January 12 police attended a Buxton address to apprehend the man who was wanted by police for outstanding matters.
Shortly after their arrival the man allegedly fled into nearby bushland.
The police dog unit was put into action when he fled and quickly caught up to him, a police statement said.

He was transported to the Bundaberg watch house and charged with several offences including contravention of a domestic violence order, serious assault of a police officer and stealing.
Police say the arrest highlighted the effectiveness of police dogs in arresting potentially violent offenders.

The man will appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on January 15.
