A driver who was busted behind the wheel without a license later returned a positive result for a cocktail of different drugs.

A repeat unlicensed driver was busted behind the wheel with a cocktail of drugs in her system, a court has been told.

The court heard the incident happened on August 11, 2024, in Yengarie.

Police prosecutor Balam Selvadurai said Spear had been stopped by police for a licence check, which showed she was unlicensed.

Spear also tested positive to amphetamine, methamphetamine and cannabis, Sergeant Selvadurai said.

He said fines and disqualification were still within range as potential punishments.

Spear, who was representing herself in court, declined to say anything in response when invited to by Magistrate John Milburn.

Mr Milburn said Spear had been before the court “recently” for unlicensed driving.

He said Spear needed to ensure that if she was going to drive, she was licensed.

Spear was fined $700 and disqualified from driving for one month for disqualified driving and three months for the drug driving offence.

Convictions were recorded.
