A 22-year-old Hervey Bay man has been placed on a good behaviour bond for slapping his sister on the face after she called him a “paedophile” during an argument over a shopping basket.

A Hervey Bay man has been placed on a 12-month good behaviour order after slapping his sister.
Kyle Jon Scott Aitcheson, 22, pleaded guilty in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to one count of common assault over the incident on May 25, 2023.
The incident occurred at the siblings’ family home, and the court heard it started as an argument over a shopping basket Mr Aitcheson believed belonged to him.

When his sister would not give him the basket the argument escalated to the point the victim told her brother to “f--k off you paedophile”.
The court heard Aitcheson then forced his way into her room and slapped her across the right cheek. She then ran into the kitchen and got a knife, which resulted in authorities being called to the home, it heard.

Aitcheson later admitted the assault to police.
He was given a $500 good behaviour order which will last for 12 months. No conviction was recorded.
