Jamie Andrew Sutherland charged with leaking confidential information

A Queensland correctional services officer has been charged after he allegedly leaked confidential prisoner photographs and officers’ reports.

A corrective services officer charged with disclosing confidential information has had his matter mentioned in a Fraser Coast court.

According to court documents, Jamie Andrew Sutherland, 53, from Urangan, was a corrective services officer at the Maryborough Correctional Centre.

His case came before the Maryborough Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

According to court documents, between October 29, 2021, and November 2, 2021, Mr Sutherland was alleged to have unlawfully disclosed confidential information including prisoner photographs and two officers’ reports.

A police spokesman responded to this publication’s inquiry regarding the matter on Tuesday.

“He is due before Maryborough Magistrates Court next on September 24,” he said.

The address of the offence was listed as Maryborough Correctional Centre in Aldershot.

According to the court documents, Mr Sutherland was charged on July 25.

Mr Sutherland has not entered a plea.

The matter was adjourned until September 24, 2024.
