Guy Sean Leigh Gallagher’s dangerous driving charge mentioned

The parents of a teenager killed after a crash in Maryborough have attended the court mention of the man charged over the crash.

Mr Gallagher faces seven charges, including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and leaving the scene without obtaining help, driving an uninsured vehicle, not ensuring passengers wear seatbelts, not having L plates displayed, driving unsupervised as a Learner driver, using an unregistered vehicle with a cancelled number plate, and not wearing a seatbelt.

The parents of a teenage girl who was killed in a car crash in Maryborough have attended court for the mention of the man charged over the incident.

The crash happened on Albert St in Maryborough about 8.45am, February 19, 2023, when a white Ford Falcon hit a power pole.

Welcome Creek’s Chelsea Maddox, 19, was critically injured in the accident, and later died in hospital.

On Tuesday, Guy Sean Leigh Gallagher’s matters were briefly mentioned before Maryborough Magistrates Court.

The 27-year-old Burua man is facing numerous charges, including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and leaving the scene without obtaining help, driving an uninsured vehicle, not ensuring passengers wear seatbelts, not having L plates displayed, driving unsupervised as a Learner driver, using an unregistered vehicle with a cancelled number plate, and not wearing a seatbelt.

Ms Maddox’s family were in court for the proceedings.

Mr Gallagher remains in custody and did not appear during the mention.

The case was adjourned until November 7, 2023
