Four arrested and charged for Torquay tobacconist robbery
Police have arrested four people in relation to an incident early Wednesday morning where a car rammed through the front of a Hervey Bay tobacconist.

Four people, including two teenagers, have been arrested and charged following the alleged ramming and burglary of a Torquay shopfront in the early hours of Wednesday, January 15.
Police were called to Hervey Bay Tobacconist and Gifts at 2.30am, where a vehicle had allegedly rammed the front glass door of the premises and stolen goods from inside the shop.
Mo, the owner of Hervey Bay Tobacconist and Gifts, received a call from the police about the same time the incident was reported.
“It’s just something that is annoying and happens in Hervey Bay often,” Mo said.
“This has happened three times this year.
“Nothing changes, whatever you say to these people.”
The four took off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
A QPS spokesman said four suspects had been arrested in Walkervale, near Bundaberg, yesterday, all with individually long lists of charges.
“A 16-year-old Bundaberg South boy has been charged with two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break-in, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property and unlawful use of motor vehicle,” the QPS spokesman said in a release to this publication.
“A 17-year-old Bundaberg North boy has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, and one count each of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking, and enter dwelling and commit.
“A 21-year-old Torquay woman has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of motor vehicle and possessing utensils or pipes for use.
“A 34-year-old Bundaberg North man has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and enter premises and commit an indictable offence, and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of a syringe or needle, and obstructing a police officer.”
All four people charged were refused bail to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 16.
