It's believed the man was riding his motorbike on a dirt road with his friend on Saturday morning when he hit a fallen tree along the track.

The rider was reportedly thrown several metres into the air, landing a short distance away.

The rescue chopper was called to the scene, just before noon.

Due to the dense bushland, paramedics at the scene decided to winch the man to safety.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue critical care doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic were winched down to the ground, where the aeromedical crew treated the man for a broken arm, before preparing him to be hoisted up into the helicopter in a stretcher.

The man, who is aged in his 60s, was flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
