RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority to winch a patient from a tanker travelling off Fraser Island on Friday afternoon.
The patient was a 53-year- old male, who was suffering from a suspected stroke and in need of medical assistance.
A flight paramedic was lowered to the main deck of the tanker to secure and harness the patient, before they were both winched into the helicopter.
The helicopter transported the patient to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
