OPINION: When I have children they will be smacked

WHEN I have kids I will be smacking them and I don't care if people judge me.

To smack or not to smack your kids?

WHEN I have kids I will be smacking them and I don't care if people judge me.

My stance comes after witnessing a mother who gave her child a smack in a shopping centre after he was naughty on several occasions.

The looks she got from others passing by were full of judgement and most likely other parents.

I feel like we live in a society where smacking has become a lot more taboo, especially in public.

Judgement is to be expected once you have children and each to their own, but we were smacked when we were kids and that was how we learnt valuable lessons from a young age.

There is a difference between being smacked and belted of course - and I stand against any type of corporal punishment that will hurt a child, but a regular smack is a great way to get the message across and teach kids a lesson or two about what is right and wrong.

I remember after getting  a smack I would certainly think twice about doing the wrong thing.

We weren't hurt at all - but it was a quick pain that you didn't want to experience again.

I believe every parent is entitled to smacking their children in public without being looked at or judged.

I would be interested to find out how you feel about people smacking in public. Would you do it?
