IS there just too much fuss when it comes to planning a wedding?
I am starting to think yes there is as I get into the groove of planning my October wedding.
To be honest I've never been the type of girl who has always dreamed of planning my wedding, and now I know why.
While I did think about eloping, knowing that my 90-year-old grandmother couldn't be there was a huge factor in having a wedding in Australia.
Don't get me wrong, I am super stoked to have time with all our family and friends, but when it comes to all the jazz and hype in the lead up, I'm not a big fan.
A couple of weekends ago I experienced my first and last dress fitting day on the Gold Coast.
I was on a mission to find a dress and after a day of it - I was glad to have picked a winner.
The first place we went to was a beautiful one-on-one experience as a bride to be, however the second spot -wow a different story.
I barely had a change room and I was fussed over way too much as I squished my way through other brides to be all fighting over the mirror to check out the dress.
Some of the dresses were so itchy I had to rush to get them off.
All in all it was great spending time with my mum and bridesmaid but certainly something I couldn't imagine doing twice.
I was quite overwhelmed by the whole wedding planning experience when I started writing out my list of things to do, but as time passes I have come to realise that when you do one thing at a time and focus on what is important to you, it's not all that bad.
With the invitations out and the dress picked and photographer locked in, now I am looking at the excitement of it all and the chance to have a beautiful day with all our special people.
