Facebook privacy: Who cares if your kid has done a poo

I DON'T understand why parents feel the need to share every little detail about their children for the whole world to see on Facebook.

I DON'T understand why parents feel the need to share every little detail about their children for the whole world to see on Facebook.

For starters who cares, and secondly, as an adult how would you feel if your mum or dad had shared your private life on the internet?

I completely understand a parents desire to capture everyday moments because early childhood is so special, but I think some adults need to ask the question will this photo have a negative impact on my child's future?

And if the answer is yes - don't post it, simple.

There are so many privacy settings on Facebook a lot of people aren't even aware of when it comes to who can see their photos, whether that be friends or friends of friends or everyone.

I remember having a conversation with a family friend a few years ago about her thoughts and she agreed that it's not really appropriate to post photos your children will one day be ashamed of.

Don't get me wrong, Facebook is a great spot to share photos and milestones of the kids for your loved ones to see, especially if they're not just living around the corner, but is it really necessary to tell everyone you're son or daughter just did their first poo on the potty with a little snapshot to go with it?

Really.

I am so glad my childhood didn't revolve around social media like some poor kids out there today.

Yeah I love seeing my friends kids on Facebook and I'm not saying don't post, but it's more about what some people are posting.

I think there are some photos and comments that aren't meant to be shared with everyone.

I would be interested to know your thoughts on Facebook privacy and posting photos of children on Facebook. Where should the line be drawn around what parents post? Join the discussion and tell us below.
