The same can be said for the Fraser Coast.

Yes, we are home to pristine beaches, environmental wonders and some of the most unique and vibrant history precincts in the country, but that doesn't mean we don't face challenges like youth crime, extremely high unemployment and drug abuse in our community.

But before you complain about the issues facing our cities and surrounding areas, have you thought about being a part of the solution?

I have been attending the Community Policing Board and it's heartening to see so many people who genuinely care about creating a better place to live.

Not only that, but changing the lives of disaffected youth and people who may be acting out in anti-social ways to cover up deeper problems.

The problem to solve is, how do we make genuine connections to those who are disaffected and how do we create real positive change and influence in our community?

I truly believe the Community Policing Board is on the right track to creating a better Fraser Coast, but more brains are needed.
