A man who was trapped after a car flipped in Maryborough has been rushed to hospital.

A man aged in his 50s has been rushed to hospital after being trapped in his car following a two-car incident near the centre of Maryborough on Friday afternoon.

First responders were called to the scene at the intersection of Alice and Bazaar Streets about 2.40pm.

One of the cars involved in the crash came to a rest on its side with one occupant still in the vehicle.

 A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service said the man had been trapped for a “significant” period of time.

He suffered an arm injury and was taken to Maryborough Hospital in a stable condition.
