Graduates across the Fraser Coast have celebrated their night of nights with elegant school formals.
Whether it was school organised, or student run as in the case of the “anti-formal” held by disgruntled Hervey Bay High students, their formal night was an opportunity to celebrate completing 12 years of schooling.
Many of the class of 2023 are continuing the celebrations this week with Schoolies.

St James Lutheran College
The students of St James Lutheran College arrived in style at the grounds of Hervey Bay Boat Club.
The arrivals were made in a mixture of classic cars and glamorous modern vehicles, with the students dressed to the nines for the occasion.
It was the first formal of the 2023 season.

The students of Urangan State High School celebrated their formal in style.
Dressed to the nines, the students arrived in classic cars, stunning modern vehicles, a limousine and even a police car.
The students celebrated the end of their school years at the Beach House Hotel.

Xavier College students celebrated their formal in style as a huge crowd welcomed them at the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
The students wore stunning gowns and suits as they posed for the cameras on the red carpet.

The graduating students from Maryborough State High School stunned as they walked the red carpet at their formal.
The students arrived at the school from on a beautiful June afternoon and evening as they celebrated their final year of school.
Hundreds of people gathered to watch the students arrive, dressed to the nines, in classic cars, modern vehicles and even a limousine.

Arriving in a limousine, in glamorous dresses, classic cars and even on horseback, the students of Aldridge State High School have celebrated their formal.
The students arrived one by one, with a big crowd to celebrate the event and their final year of school.

The students of Fraser Coast Anglican College celebrated their formal by arriving in classic cars, in a mobility scooter, on the back of a motorcycle and even in a crane.
The students walked the red carpet before going into the Beach House Hotel to celebrate the end of their school years.

St Mary’s College
Arriving in limousines, on the back of motorcycles and even in a semi-trailer, the students of St Mary’s College celebrated their formal in style.
The students celebrated their big night on Friday at the Brolga Theatre with one arrival proving popular as they arrived to the strains of Guns & Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine.

The students of Riverside Christian College celebrated their formal dressed magnificently.
This year’s Year 12 cohorts celebrated their formal at Maryborough City Hall on a Friday night.
Arriving in a limousine, in classic cars and in one case, a semi-trailer, the students were ready to celebrate nearing the end of their school careers.

Hervey Bay State High School students dressed to the nines for their formal on Thursday evening.
From a limousine, to vintage cars and even on horseback, the Year 12 graduates made an impact on the red carpet at Urangan’s Waterfront Restaurant.

The Anti-formal
Storm clouds threatened but the 30-strong Fraser Coast Year 12 graduates who were not permitted to attend their school formal were determined to have a blast at their ‘anti-formal’, held at the Arkarra Gardens.
Just like a regular school formal, a crowd of family, friends and onlookers helped welcomed the attendees as they arrived at their alternate event.
Also just like a regular school formal, the graduates were beautiful and excited to be there.
