Maryborough’s Becca Newman has shared her experience of the kindness of strangers
When her two year old son threw a tantrum at a Maryborough shopping centre, a mum was left in tears. But a simple act of kindness made her day.

A mum, who was left in tears after her two-year-old son threw a tantrum at a Maryborough shopping centre, has told of the kindness of a stranger who came to her aid in her moment of need.
Becca Newman had caught the bus to Station Square Shopping Centre with her son Jack.
But while they were in Big W, Jack had a meltdown that left Becca not knowing what to do.
Because they had caught the bus, she couldn’t simply head to her car.
So, she carried him to the parenting room to try to soothe him, with both of them now in tears.
“I was sitting there, he was crying, I was crying and a lovely lady asked if I was okay and gave me a big hug,” she said.
While Becca remained in the parenting room, the lady left but soon came back with a cup of coffee for the tearful mum.
Becca said her situation was one many parents could relate to, with the tantrum made all the worse because it was happening in public.
“It was the worst tantrum he’s ever had in his whole life,” she said,
